Frequently asked questions
How does your company charge for its services?
After an initial complementary meeting, we define the scope of services with the client. Some activities, like authoring an employee handbook may be more appropriately priced by project.
Other assignments may lend themselves to a billable hourly rate, based on experience and knowledge required. Performing FSLA audits (determining non-exempt or exempt status) would be an example.
Our rates are competitively priced within the local market. Since we do not have the infrastructure that larger consulting firms have, we often are able to perform similar services at half the cost.
Who are some of Frozen Rainbows clients?
Over the past 10 years we have consulted with various nonprofits, local marketing/fulfillment center operations, aircraft manufacturers, oil & gas businesses and health care operations. References are always available.
What specific training programs do you offer?
Our approach is to offer highly participatory learning interventions which integrate real life scenarios and which offer immediate on-the-job application. Topics include performance management, building effective goals aligned with the business strategy, performance measurements, and counseling on Total Rewards programs.
Do your qualifications meet any sort of standards for Human Resource consulting?
The Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the nation’s leading professional organization for Human Resource Managers. My SPHR certification was earned by examination and indicates that I possess the knowledge and experience to be designated a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR). This certification must be kept current through continuing education and testing to insure that my knowledge base is current.
I’m the Executive Director of a small nonprofit organization and outsource our payroll and accounting. We have 12 employees and 4 volunteers but we can’t afford even a part-time human resources person. How would you help us be sure we are in compliance with labor laws, etc.?
For a negotiated fee we could do an on-site audit of your payroll-related and personnel records, looking for I-9 compliance, segregation of HIPPA documents, job descriptions, performance evaluations, etc. Then recommendations on policy and process can be presented and implemented.
